Ingredients :
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions :
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with English Simple Recipes parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Add the cold butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Gradually add the milk, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently a few times until it comes together.
- Roll out the dough to English Simple Recipes about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Gather any remaining dough scraps, gently re-roll, and cut out more biscuits until all the dough is used.

- Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
