Sweet and Tangy Baked Beans English Simple Recipes

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) of baked beans
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 slices of cooked bacon, chopped (optional, for added flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish (approximately 8x8 inches or similar size).

  3. Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the baked beans (with their sauce), ketchup, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, and chopped bacon (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  4. Season: Taste the mixture and add salt and pepper as needed, keeping in mind that canned baked beans and sauces already contain salt.

  5. Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the bean mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the beans are bubbling and the sauce has thickened to your liking.

  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. These sweet and tangy baked beans are delicious as a side dish for barbecue, grilled meats, or as a part of a casual meal.

  8. Optional Garnish: You can garnish with chopped parsley or green onions for a fresh touch before serving.
