Potato Rice Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati English Simple Recipes or long-grain rice
- 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, slit (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
- 2-3 cups water (adjust for rice cooking)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Rice:
- Rinse the rice Hindi Simple Recipes under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Soak the rice in water for about 20-30 minutes, then drain.
Cook the Potatoes:
- In a pot, heat oil or ghee over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cooking for an additional minute.
Add Potatoes:
- Add the diced potatoes and sauté for 5-6 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Season with salt.
Add Rice:
- Add the Marathi Simple Recipes soaked and drained rice to the pot, stirring gently to combine.
- Sauté for another 2 minutes to lightly toast the rice.
Add Water:
- Pour in 2-3 cups of water (depending on your rice type) and bring it to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
Fluff and Serve:
- Once done, remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired.
Tips:
- You can add spices like cumin seeds or bay leaves for extra flavor.
- Serve hot with yogurt or salad.
