Potato Rice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basmati English Simple Recipes or long-grain rice
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  • 2-3 cups water (adjust for rice cooking)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Rice:

    • Rinse the rice Hindi Simple Recipes under cold water until the water runs clear.
    • Soak the rice in water for about 20-30 minutes, then drain.
  2. Cook the Potatoes:

    • In a pot, heat oil or ghee over medium heat.
    • Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
    • Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cooking for an additional minute.
  3. Add Potatoes:

    • Add the diced potatoes and sauté for 5-6 minutes until they begin to soften.
    • Season with salt.
  4. Add Rice:

    • Add the Marathi Simple Recipes soaked and drained rice to the pot, stirring gently to combine.
    • Sauté for another 2 minutes to lightly toast the rice.
  5. Add Water:

    • Pour in 2-3 cups of water (depending on your rice type) and bring it to a boil.
    • Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  6. Fluff and Serve:

    • Once done, remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes before fluffing with a fork.
    • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired.

Tips:

  • You can add spices like cumin seeds or bay leaves for extra flavor.
  • Serve hot with yogurt or salad.
