English Simple Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup mixed vegetables English Simple Recipes (carrots, peas, beans)
  • 1/4 cup dried fruits (cashews, raisins, almonds)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 2-3 green cardamoms
  • 1-2 cloves
  • 1-2 bay leaves
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
  • Saffron strands (optional)
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Rice:

    • Rinse the basmati Hindi Simple Recipes rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak it in water for about 30 minutes, then drain.
  2. Heat Ghee/Oil:

    • In a pan, heat ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add Whole Spices:

    • Add cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves, and cinnamon stick. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  4. Add Vegetables:

    • Stir in the mixed vegetables and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add Rice:

    • Add the soaked and Marathi Simple Recipes drained rice to the pan. Gently stir to mix everything.
  6. Add Water and Cook:

    • Pour in 2 cups of water and add ginger paste and salt. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  7. Add Dried Fruits:

    • In the last 5 minutes of cooking, sprinkle in the dried fruits and saffron strands (if using). Mix gently.
  8. Fluff and Serve:

    • Once done, fluff the pulao with a fork. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
