Bajri Amti is a very delicious and nutritious dish from Maharashtra. This amti is usually spicy and sweet in taste, and millet is used in our diet in English Simple Recipes various ways. Let's see the simple recipe of Bajri Amti:

Bajri Amti Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 cup millet flour

2 teaspoons oil

1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds

1/2 teaspoon asafoetida

1 large onion (chopped)

1 green chili (chopped)

1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste

1/2 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon chili powder (to your taste)

1 teaspoon jaggery

1 tomato (chopped)

1/2 teaspoon garam masala

2 cups mustard water (boiled)

Salt to taste

Coriander for garnish

Recipe:

Prepare the millet flour:

Take millet flour and 2 cups water in a pan and mix them. A little thick water will form, then keep it boiling.

Oil and spices:

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and asafoetida. When they start to crackle, add onion and green chillies. Fry the onion until it turns golden brown.

Paste and spices:

Now add ginger-garlic paste, English Simple Recipes turmeric, chilli powder and jaggery. Fry all the spices well for 2-3 minutes.

Tomato and garam masala:

Add chopped tomatoes and cook them till they become soft. Add garam masala and fry for a little more.

Prepare Bajri Amti:

Now add the bajri flour mixture prepared earlier. Add salt, garam masala and water as required and let the amti boil. Boil for 10-15 minutes and the amti will thicken well.

Garnish:

Serve hot bajri amti with coriander leaves.

Serving:

Bajri amti tastes very tasty with hot bread, polhi or rice.
