Ingredients:
- 500g prawns English Simple Recipes (cleaned and deveined)
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- 2-3 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 1-inch ginger (grated)
- 2 green chilies (slit)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Prawns: Clean and devein the prawns. Set them aside.
Heat Oil: In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Sauté Onions: Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
Add Ginger, Garlic, and Chilies: Add the chopped ginger, garlic, and slit green chilies. Sauté for another minute.
Spice it Up: Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Stir well to combine the spices.
Tomato Puree: Add the pureed tomatoes and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the oil separates from the masala.
Cook Prawns: Add the prawns to the masala and mix well. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the prawns turn pink and tender. Stir occasionally.Hindi Simple Recipes
Final Touch: Sprinkle garam masala powder and give everything a good mix. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
