 English Simple Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Basmati rice

  • 1 cup Green peas English Simple Recipes (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 medium-sized Onion (sliced)

  • 1 Tomato (chopped)

  • 2 tablespoons Oil or Ghee

  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder

  • 1-2 Green cardamoms

  • 1 small piece of Cinnamon stick

  • 2-3 Cloves

  • 2 cups Water

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh Coriander leaves (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Wash the Rice: Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly under cold water and soak it in water for about 15-20 minutes.

  2. Heat Oil/Ghee: In Hindi Simple Recipes a pan or a pressure cooker, heat 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamoms. Sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.

  3. Sauté Onion: Add the sliced onion and sauté it until golden brown.

  4. Add Spices: Now, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Stir well, and cook for 1-2 minutes.

  5. Add Tomato and Peas: Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften. Then, add the green peas (fresh or frozen) and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  6. Add Rice and Water: Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Mix gently. Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste.

  7. Cook the Pulav: Bring the water to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce Marathi Simple Recipes the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes until the rice is cooked and all the water is absorbed. (If using a pressure cooker, cook for 1-2 whistles.)

  8. Garnish and Serve: Once the rice is cooked, fluff it gently with a fork. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
