Ingredients:

1 cup Basmati rice

1 cup Green peas English Simple Recipes (fresh or frozen)

1 medium-sized Onion (sliced)

1 Tomato (chopped)

2 tablespoons Oil or Ghee
-
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
-
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
-
1 teaspoon Red chili powder
-
1 teaspoon Coriander powder
-
1-2 Green cardamoms
-
1 small piece of Cinnamon stick
-
2-3 Cloves
-
2 cups Water
-
Salt to taste
-
Fresh Coriander leaves (for garnish)
Instructions:

Wash the Rice: Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly under cold water and soak it in water for about 15-20 minutes.

Heat Oil/Ghee: In Hindi Simple Recipes a pan or a pressure cooker, heat 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamoms. Sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.

Sauté Onion: Add the sliced onion and sauté it until golden brown.

Add Spices: Now, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Stir well, and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add Tomato and Peas: Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften. Then, add the green peas (fresh or frozen) and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Add Rice and Water: Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Mix gently. Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste.

Cook the Pulav: Bring the water to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce Marathi Simple Recipes the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes until the rice is cooked and all the water is absorbed. (If using a pressure cooker, cook for 1-2 whistles.)

Garnish and Serve: Once the rice is cooked, fluff it gently with a fork. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
